Vision Statement

Hi, my name is Marty Rochfort. I have been married to my wife Linda for 27 years and together we have three grown children and a teenager. In 1986 the Lord Jesus saved me from a life of violence and alcoholism. As soon as I was saved I was sharing my faith with anyone that would listen as well as those that wouldn’t.

In 1994 I began formal training as an evangelist. My training although not always formal continues to this day. I was trained to be an all-rounder and over the years I have had the privilege of much experience in most types of evangelism including, one-to-one, Gospel/ healing crusades, house to house, open-air preaching, children’s camps, children’s crusades, small-town-outreach, sketch board preaching, prison ministry, Gospel magic, old folks homes, after school programs, small group evangelism and church-planting.

In 1997 after much study I became convinced of two things. First, from studying the Gospels I was convinced, to be truly effective, evangelism had to be done and kept at a grass-roots level, after all, Jesus was a grass-roots level evangelist. From studying the book of Acts I became convinced that to be Biblical, our evangelism had to either grow the local church or plant new churches. In the Book of Acts, almost whenever evangelism was done, either the local church grew or a new church was planted, why should it be different now?

Convinced of these two things, I began to use some of my skills to help grow the local church.  I learnt to gather the people I met and won to Christ through starting youth groups (in schools as well as in churches), after school programs and small-groups- I would start these groups and quickly hand them over to those who had time to disciple long term.

In 2001 I embarked on my first mission to the Philippines. I was there to do healing crusades in the barrios but I decided (also) to preach in the open-air and go house to house praying for the sick and sharing the Gospel. Evangelising this way; a few pastors and I planted 5 new churches in only 3 weeks. Since then I have helped plant many churches of several different denominations and have fine- tuned my strategy.

Apart from the odd mission to the Philippines, I have spent the last six years (2007-13) quietly itinerating round New Zealand, preaching and teaching the Gospel at kids and youth camps, churches, doing the odd small town outreach and speaking in over 350 schools on the subjects of bullying and substance abuse. Last year (Dec. 2012), I came to the end of this “time out”, I feel God has in a sense re-commissioned me to not only pursue soul-winning and church planting with increased vigour but to also better train and equip evangelists and church planters to train others to do the same- this website is just part of my response to God.

My prayer is that you do much with this material- Go win the lost, and equip them and others to do the same.
Dear friend, the resources on this website are free, but if you are blessed by them and are able to give, please consider giving a donation to help with my own evangelism/church-planting efforts.

Yours in the Harvest
